Race Summary
Max Verstappen claimed his 16th victory of the season at the United States Grand Prix in Austin, extending his record-breaking campaign with another commanding performance at the Circuit of the Americas. The Dutchman overcame Charles Leclerc's pole position to win from third on the grid, demonstrating Red Bull's superior race pace once again.
Leclerc secured Ferrari's second pole of the season with a stunning lap around COTA's challenging 5.5km layout, but couldn't convert it into a race win. Verstappen quickly dispatched the Ferrari and pulled away from the field, controlling the race through the critical pit stop phases. Lando Norris delivered McLaren's eighth podium of the season with second place, continuing the team's impressive late-season form. Carlos Sainz completed the podium for Ferrari in third, while Yuki Tsunoda set the fastest lap for AlphaTauri.
Sergio Perez endured another difficult race, finishing outside the points and continuing his disappointing second half of the season. The victory extended Verstappen's points total to a staggering level with just four races remaining. The dominant performance in front of a sell-out American crowd, with F1's popularity surging in the United States, highlighted the sport's growth even during an era of single-team dominance. Red Bull's superiority showed no signs of weakening as the season entered its final stretch.
