Biography

Liam Lawson (11 February 2002 - Present): Born in Hastings and raised in Pukekohe, New Zealand, Liam Jared Lawson is a New Zealand racing driver who competes in Formula One for Racing Bulls. Beginning competitive kart racing at age six, Lawson dominated the NZ F1600 Championship Series with fourteen victories from fifteen races, becoming the youngest champion in the series' history and the youngest-ever Formula Ford champion in the world at the time. He won the 2019 Toyota Racing Series, which led to his inclusion in the Red Bull Junior Programme. In the 2021 DTM, Lawson won the opening race at Monza, becoming the youngest-ever race winner in the series.

In Formula 2 in 2022, he won four races and achieved six other podium finishes, finishing third with 149 points. Lawson made his Formula One debut at the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix, replacing injured Daniel Ricciardo at AlphaTauri for five Grands Prix, scoring a points finish in Singapore. He was confirmed with a full-time race seat for the final six races of 2024 alongside Yuki Tsunoda. On 19 December 2024, Lawson was promoted to Red Bull Racing for 2025 to partner Max Verstappen, replacing Sergio Perez.
