In 1996, he joined Ferrari and transformed the struggling team into the dominant force of the early 2000s, winning five consecutive championships from 2000-2004.
After retiring in 2006, Schumacher returned to Formula One from 2010 to 2012 with Mercedes. In December 2013, Schumacher suffered a severe brain injury in a skiing accident and was placed in a medically induced coma. He remains one of motorsport's most celebrated figures.
