
Romain Grosjean (April 17, 1986 - Present): A French-Swiss racing driver from Geneva, Switzerland, born to a Swiss father and French mother, Grosjean competed in Formula One from 2009 to 2020, achieving 10 podiums across three teams without securing a race victory. He made his Formula One debut at the 2009 European Grand Prix with Renault but was dropped after seven races. Grosjean returned to F1 in 2012 with Lotus, where he achieved all ten of his career podiums, including his first at the 2012 Bahrain Grand Prix with a third-place finish and a career-best second place at the 2012 Canadian Grand Prix. His strongest season came in 2013 when he finished seventh in the World Drivers' Championship with six podiums and recorded his first fastest lap at the 2012 Spanish Grand Prix.
Grosjean received Formula One's first race ban since 1994 after causing a major multi-car collision at the 2012 Belgian Grand Prix. He joined the Haas F1 Team for 2016 through 2020, securing a fourth-place finish at the 2018 Austrian Grand Prix as his best result with the American team. Grosjean's Formula One career ended dramatically at the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix when he survived a horrific 220 km/h crash that saw his car split in half and burst into flames, escaping with burns to his hands. He competed in 179 Formula One races, achieving 391 career points.
Following his departure from F1, Grosjean moved to the IndyCar Series in 2021 with Dale Coyne Racing, achieving his maiden pole position and podium at the Grand Prix of Indianapolis. In 2024, he transitioned to sportscar racing with Lamborghini in the IMSA SportsCar Championship. Known for his speed and aggressive style, Grosjean remains one of the most talented drivers never to win a Formula One race.
