
Teodorico 'Teo' Fabi (9 March 1955 - Present): Italian-American racing driver from Milan who competed in Formula One from 1982 to 1987. Achieved 1 podium and 23 championship points across 64 races with Toleman, Brabham, and Benetton. Remarkably secured 3 pole positions despite limited race success, including the 1984 German Grand Prix for Brabham-BMW and both the 1985 Austrian and German Grands Prix, demonstrating exceptional one-lap pace. Made F1 debut at 1982 San Marino Grand Prix with Toleman.
His sole podium came with third place at the 1987 Austrian Grand Prix for Benetton. Also competed extensively in American racing, winning the 1983 CART Rookie of the Year and scoring two CART victories. In 1991, won the World Sportscar Championship driving for Jaguar alongside Derek Warwick and Alain Ferté. His nephew Alessandro Zanardi also raced in F1. After leaving F1, Fabi concentrated on IndyCar racing before transitioning to sports cars.
Later became a successful engineer and team manager, working with his nephew's racing efforts. Known for his technical knowledge and ability to extract maximum performance during qualifying. Holds distinction of being one of few drivers to compete successfully in both European Formula One and American open-wheel racing during the same era.
