
Ricardo Luiz Zonta (23 March 1976 - Present): Brazilian racing driver from Curitiba. Won the 1997 Formula 3000 championship and 1998 FIA GT Championship (GT1 class) while testing for McLaren. Made his F1 debut with BAR in 1999 alongside Jacques Villeneuve but missed three races due to a foot injury in Brazil and suffered a massive crash at Spa-Francorchamps. Scored his first point with sixth in the 2000 season opener and added points in Italy and USA to finish 14th in the championship.
Replaced by Olivier Panis for 2001, substituted for injured Heinz-Harald Frentzen at Jordan for one race, then again when Frentzen was sacked. Served as Toyota test driver from 2003, racing in four 2004 Grands Prix after Cristiano da Matta's dismissal. Substituted for injured Ralf Schumacher at 2005 US GP but withdrew with other Michelin teams. Continued as Toyota's third driver through 2006. Participated in 38 Grands Prix total across BAR, Jordan, and Toyota.
