
David Philip Clapham (17 May 1931 - 22 October 2005) was a South African racing driver and motorsport enthusiast who competed in one Formula One World Championship Grand Prix. He participated in the 1965 South African Grand Prix at East London, driving a Lotus-Climax but retired from the race. Beyond Formula One, Clapham was active in South African national motorsport throughout the 1960s, competing in various local championship races and sports car events. He was passionate about developing motorsport in South Africa and contributed to the growth of racing infrastructure in the region.
After retiring from competition, Clapham remained involved in South African motorsport as an organizer and supporter, helping nurture the next generation of drivers. His contribution to South African racing extended far beyond his brief Formula One appearance.
